Builder, founder, father, cricketer.

I am Mahabir Prasad. Since 2011 I have run my own companies on one rule: do not disappear after the sale, and build for scale before you need it. Close to 90% of my clients come back. This is where I write about how.

What I believe

Most software businesses lose clients the same way. The team goes quiet after the deal closes, so the client feels alone with the hard part. And the product gets built for the demo, not for the day it actually has users, so it buckles the moment it grows.

I have spent close to 20 years around this work, and I built both of my companies against these two failures. Stay close after the sale. Build for scale from the start. Every company I run is built on those two habits, and I write here about what they look like in practice, so you can judge the thinking before you ever work with one of my teams.

What I've built

ScalaCode

My primary company, founded in 2012. An AI-first product engineering company for founders and CTOs who want a team that behaves like their own. We build AI systems and the production-grade software around them, so what we ship holds up in the real world, not just the demo. More than 1,300 clients, 500-plus projects, and close to 90% of them come back. This is the philosophy at full scale.

Caredara

My newest venture, where I am co-founder and CTO. Healthcare technology for continuous, connected care beyond the clinic: secure, AI-driven systems that improve care coordination, patient engagement, and how providers run. Early days, built to be relied on.

iWebServices

The same philosophy pointed at small business. It helps mom-and-pop shops and local retailers get online and actually win customers, not just get a website and go quiet.

I also advise TalentMatched.com, an AI recruitment platform, as a strategic advisor.

Who I am

I am an engineer by training, with an MBA in IT. Before starting my own companies I spent years in the industry, and I kept seeing the same two problems everywhere: clients left alone after the deal closed, and products built for the demo instead of for real growth. I started ScalaCode in 2012 to do the opposite of both, and I have carried the same two habits into everything I have built since.

Away from work, I am a husband, a father to two little daughters, and a serious cricketer. Most of what keeps me interested in technology is the same thing it always was: using it to solve problems that are actually real.
